With corruption case against him ongoing, Sonko who was released on Sh15 million bail has another year to bring his political career back on track.

After having a glorious political career even where very few people gave him a chance, Sonko went on to dominate Nairobi politics for the whole of the last decade. But today, his political fortunes have seemingly hit a dead end.

However, 2020 could be the year that will elevate him to even greater heights or "finish" him completely, never to recover again.

At the height of Sonko's troubles in December 2019, Nairobi MCAs were reportedly plotting to impeach him. However, that plan seems to have been "suspended", at least for now. But it is most likely that they will revisit it in 2020. If they do, the embattled governor will be doomed. If not, he will be given a political lifeline.

Then there is the ongoing case. If the case is heard and determined before the end of the year, Sonko will have time to plan his political future - whichever the court ruling. However, a favourable ruling will surely save him.

The manner in which Sonko conducts his politics especially with the case in court will also make or break himself politically.

So,2020 could be Sonko's year.
