Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula has said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is meant to transform the lives of Kenyans. Speaking on Saturday at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Wetangula said that the report should address issues affecting all Kenyans and not the leadership positions in government.
He noted that the report highlights how pressing issues such as electoral malpractices, historical injustices and lack of integrity can be resolved.
The Senator argued that he is ready to support the report but on condition that all the issues addressed in the same are implemented to the latter."The centre piece of BBI is born of electoral malpractice, electoral injustice and lack of integrity of elections, now that we are here, we must put the people of Kenya the centre of BBI," he said.
He affirmed that the report was not adopted to benefit a few individuals. He asked the BBI task force to ensure that all the pillars of the report are given the same weight when it comes to implementation.
"#BBI is not about leaders but the people of Kenya. #BBI has 9 pilars, let’s not run away with one pilar and forget the other 8," he said.
ODM leader Raila Odinga and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi were present during the meeting.
