Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has confirmed that over 500 ECDE teachers in Nyamira County whose contracts had expired have been renewed.
The county boss said reports that his administration had sent home over the 500 ECDE teachers are false.
"The county assembly approved the budget for the remuneration of over 500 ECDE teachers. The teachers will be notified to renew their terms of employment with the county government," he stated.
Nyagarama who of the recent days has been working around the clock to clean impunity from his government assured that his government values education noting the future of the people of Nyamira relies on the education.
However, the ODM governor maintained that ECDE teachers with fake academic credentials will be sent home.
"ECDE teachers with fake papers will have to go home. My government will not renew contracts for teachers who faked papers and their names sneaked into the county payroll," said Nyagarama.
He appealed to Nyamira residents to ignore his political rivals who are out spreading propaganda to gain political mileage ahead of 2022 general elections.
The second term county boss reaffirmed his commitment to serve the people of Nyamira.
