A live bullet was found under Jacque Maribe’s bed, police have said.
According to investigators working to unravel the murder of Monica Kimani who was killed in Kilimani, Maribe’s boyfriend Joseph Irungu is key suspect in the murder.
Police ambushed Irungu at 5 am in Jacque Maribe’s house at the Royal Park estate in Lang’ata on Tuesday, September 25.
During the morning raid, the team recovered a live bullet from under the bed, but not a pistol they said they had been informed that Irungu has been using at most shooting ranges in the city, the Standard reported.
Police have since asked that Jacque Maribe presents herself to detectives as she was not in the house when investigators returned to her house on that Tuesday afternoon.
"She is not responding to our calls but we have left a message for her, requiring her to come for further clarification. Even her lawyer says she is not responding to calls,” an officer investigating the murder said.
The matter is said to have weighed in on Maribe to an extent that she did not report to work on Wednesday.
It is not yet clear what will happen to her news program at Citizen TV where she anchors alongside award-winning journalist Waihiga Mwaura.
