The two; Gibson Meddusa and Denzel Brian are contesting for the co-curricular docket (College 002) in the Schools of Arts and Information Sciences.

For Meddusa Gibson who is a third year student, this is the second time he is contesting for the position as he was on the ballot in the previous election but lost.

Denzel Brian, on the other hand, is a fast-rising campus politician in his second year of study in Political Science and Public Administration.

The two young and determined politicians have thrown in every single card they could and it is evident that nothing but the ballot will stop either of them.

Some of the voters have given reasons why they think the two were suitable for the position.

“Denzel Brian is one guy who has been able to go through it all to see that comrades are entertained. When he was not in the council, he managed to organise four events, successful events for that matter. For all the sports people, Denzel is currently negotiating for allowance increment. So definitely my vote will have to go to Denzel Brian,” Xavier Omoro, a student at Moi University stated.

Georgina Anyango a fourth year student, on the other hand, believes the resilience displayed by Meddusa is crucial for a leader.

“Meddusa is someone who understands the political terrain of this university. He gathered a lot of experience after losing in the last election. Plus, the fact that he has been able to come back to reclaim the co-curricular docket displays him as a leader who will never give up on his people,” Anyango noted.

The co-curricular docket, which is termed as the backbone of university life, has raised a lot of heat in the ongoing election at Moi University.

Election of the delegates will take place today (February 22) while that of the Students Governing Council will take place on February 26.
