Former Kitui Senator David Musila on Sunday through his autobiography, Against all Odds, partly published by Sunday Nation revealed the reason behind his fall out with Kalonzo Musyoka.
Musila revealed that Kalonzos influence to Malombe’s Wiper Party nomination ticket made him part ways with the Wiper boss.
He also said that their woes started after he had a breakfast meeting with Raila.
He revealed that after the meeting, Kalonzo told his friends that he favoured the ODM Party for the top position which marked the genesis of their woes.
Thereafter, his position as the party's chair was given to the late Francis Nyenze.
He further says that during Wiper nominations, he felt humiliated because he was intimidated by the party's nomination board ostensibly working under Kalonzo's instructions.
Following this, he decided to reach Kalonzo via phone to send the party’s Secretary-General or the vice-chair to Kitui to oversee the nomination process but he never did.
What followed were three days of torment.
According to their final tallying, he had won the nomination and he was waiting for the party to declare him as a winner.
However, he goes on, things changed as the party held back the results and changed the numbers in favour of Julius Malombe (former Kitui Governor).
Musila adds that Kalonzo then instructed the party's Election Board Chair to declare Malombe the winner.
It is at this point that he announced his resignation as the party's chair and decided to vie for Kitui governorship as an independent candidate.
Nevertheless, he managed 114,527 votes in the 2017 general elections while Malombe garnered 74,697 votes.
