Former IEBC boss Isaac Hassan has made a come back to government after slightly over a year in cold.
Mr. Hassan, who was forced out of office in late 2016, was appointed chairperson Industrial Property Institute by Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.
The names were officially unveiled on Friday in the Kenya Gazette issue moments before President Uhuru Kenyatta left the country for New York.
Hassan, who also chaired Interim Independent Electoral Commission in 2010 that conducted referendum for the new constitution, fell out with opposition chief Raila Odinga over management of 2013 polls.
He was replaced by Wafula Chebukati, who has similarly been struggling to stamp his authority in the electoral agency.
In 2017, Hassan labelled Raila Odinga a perennial loser further creating anxiety.
