This might sound bizzare to some of us, but the truth is that male circumcision is of great help in one way or another.

So, how does male circumcision prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS in the first place?

Well, male circumcision prevents the transmission of HIV virus by at least 60%.

From a biological point of view, the folding of foreskin creates a sub-preputial space between inner foreskin and glans that is largely anaerobic.

This anaerobic condition is believed to harbour anaerobic bacteria that activates foreskin cells identified as Langerhans cells hence preventing them from carrying out their role of fighting off viruses.

By removing the foreskin, this eliminates the sub-preputial space hence creating aerobic environment that discourages the inoculation of the virus.

This in turn increases the amount of oxygen that decreases the transmission of HIV/AIDS.

In other words, male circumcision protects the Langerhans cells from anaerobic bacteria which acts an immune system on the pintle.

However, if you want ultimate protection against the malady, always use a protective when making love since it doesn't bar the disease.

It will be a nice idea to go for circumcision if you haven't.
