Kibwana said he has been receiving requests from Kenyans to go for the top seat almost on a daily basis.

"It is true people have been telling me to contest for the presidency in 2022 whenever I go. If Kenyans say they want me to be their President, I won't decline," Kibwana said.

He spoke at an interview on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Citizen on Monday morning.

However, Kibwana pointed out that Kenya remains largely a tribal country, which might hinder his presidency.

The governor said he is ready to counter the tribal challenge.

"If Kenyans need me, I will unite with leaders from other parts of the country so as to counter tribalism and win the presidency," he added.

Kibwana has been 'swimming' in praise over his good performance and remarkable development in Makueni County.
