President Uhuru Kenyatta had announced a mini cabinet reshuffle that saw sports cabinet secretary Richard Echasa being sacked from sports ministry, in his place Ambassadors Amina Mohammed was reassigned.
Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) chairman and former University of Nairobi vice-chancellor Prof George Magoha was appointed the new cabinet secretary for education among other changes.
Many people have praised the President especially for the appointment of Prof Magoha in the Ministry of Education as a main positive for the reshuffle.
However, former Kirinyaga governor candidate and Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua hold the opinion the President has done yet nothing significant to end corruption vice. Through a statement on Twitter, the lawyer said nothing short of a complete overhaul of the cabinet secretary will be enough in making sure service delivery is enhanced with corruption being taken care of.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta you have barely scratched the surface, nothing short of a total overhaul can cure the malaise in government #Cabinetshuffle" reads a statement on Twitter by the former Presidential candidate.
Martha Karua has been vocal on the corruption situation in the country, asking the President on several occasions to fire leaders who are misusing public resources for their own benefit.
A netizen by the Nyakiana agreed with her:"Especially it's in bad taste only 1 minister had to go. And changes are too not any better safe for Maghoha in Edu docket."
