Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi on Saturday led a fundraiser for the families of two victims of DusitD2 terror attack.
Feisal Haji and Abdalla Sheikh Mohamed Dahir died in the January 15 terror attack at the DusitD2 Hotel complex in Nairobi.
The terror attack left 21 people dead and others injured.
During the Saturday fundraiser, Muslim leaders raised Sh21 Million to support the families of the two victims.
The fundraiser was attended by Senators, MPs, MCAs, religious leaders and business people.
“A big thank you to all the people who attended and made the fundraiser a successful event. A total of Ksh21 Million was raised for the families of Abdalla and Feisal who died in a terrorist attack at the Dusit,” Fatuma Gedi tweeted.
Hundred of Gedi's supporters flooded her Twitter timeline praising her noble act.
“We love you our able woman rep, continue delivering the service for your people,” Abdullahi tweeted.
“The unity among Somalis is so great. Wish other tribes will realize this. The individualism among others is heartbreaking. Great.” Papa zero tweeted.“Well done a sign of brotherhood thanks all,” Ahmed Saleh, Gedi's supporter said in a tweet.
“Hardworking iron lady keep going and I hope those who tried to tarnish your reputation are destined to fail, they plotted against you but Allah knows what they are doing,” Abdalla tweeted.
Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan presided over the fundraiser.
The Muslim leaders vowed to support the government in the fight against terrorism.
