Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has asked her supporters to remain peaceful and calm.
Speaking at Tala town in Matungulu on Monday, Ndeti told her supporters and Machakos locals to remain united.
She said the residents should live in unity despite their political differences.
Ndeti said the residents will remain Kenyans hence politics should not make them enemies.
“My appeal is to my supporters and Machakos people to remain peaceful and love each other as they have been doing despite their political differences,” Ndeti said.
Ndeti said politics come and go but unity is what matters.
She said the time when politicians traded barbs for political superiority is all gone.
She asked Machakos and Ukambani residents to join other Kenyans in keeping unity and peace.
Ndeti and Governor Alfred Mutua’s supporters have been exchanging bitter words on social media as the two politicians' rivalry intensifies.
In June 2018, the Court of Appeal nullified Mutua’s victory on the August 8, 2017 general election on grounds that it was not free and fair.
The court ordered the IEBC to conduct fresh gubernatorial election in conformity with the law.
Mutua appealed the ruling at the Supreme Court, the case is pending hearing and determination.
