Being a university student sometimes needs an extra survival tip and the students in Moi University especially the male comrades have opened up on how they survive when it comes to studying, food and 'slay queens' which are common to them.
Studying
As this is the main core value in university, most of the students have taken seriously their studies while a small number of them have just become joyriders.
"When it comes to studying, we attend lectures thereafter we go for further revision in the school library and this has helped us a lot in our examinations. We also do discussions with other comrades," revealed Mathew Sang a second-year student.
Food
Food is a basic need which everyone is entitled to have but some may not have that chance to have something on the table due to some reasons.
"This is my most crucial part and it requires more survival tactics. Like for me, I have to wake up late at weekends to avoid 'unnecessary' expenses for breakfast. Also, I have to skip lunch on some days and I live only on two meals a day and that's how a comrade should survive," noted Chumba an Economic student.
'Slay queens'
Notorious 'slay queens' have been noted to dig pockets of most comrades thereafter leaving them languishing in poverty but surprisingly a number of Moi University comrades have known how to deal with them.
"If you cannot sustain one lady then it's better being single and avoid slay queens who are there to dig your pocket only," said Otieno.
However, the students have been advised to avoid unnecessary burdens and focus on studies.
