The woman who featured in Asbel Kiprop's leaked video that went viral on Monday is alleged to be fighting for her life at Eldoret Hospital after an attempted suicide.
Nancy Rotich Chepsiya who once vied for a Member of County Assembly (MCA) position in Sergoit ward on a Jubilee party ticket in last years elections is reported to have taken a poisonous substance in an effort to end her life.
The social media humiliation was apparently too much for her to handle.
What made the situation worse was the fact that Chepsiya is a married woman and her relationship with the former 1500 m champion Asbel Kiprop was adulterous.
There have been several tweets indicating that the lady had attempted to commit suicide.
In the one and half minute video which attracted a lot of reactions on social media, the lady is seen dancing seductively while half-naked and kissing the athlete at the end.
A lot of people on social media criticized Asbel Kiprop for the video. The lady was, however, the punching bag for the internet due to her marital status.
It has not yet been confirmed whether reports of the lady attempting to commit suicide were true not.
