Several MCAs attached to Nyamira County Assembly stormed into Human Resource offices in the county, forcing employees to flee from their offices.
The furious legislators demanded to know why several employees have been given show cause letters, suspended or interdicted by the county government.
Employees at first were forced to desert their offices, fearing that the angry legislators would have attacked them.
A fortnight ago, Governor John Nyagarama insisted that his decision to freeze salary for employees whose recruitment was questionable would not be reversed.
"I am determined to clean the payroll and this is unstoppable. The committee has released names of those whose employment is questionable and we are investigating further," he said.
The county boss added: "We are ready for a legal action. Those who are moving to court, we shall handle them. We must handle the payroll monster."
The MCAs later forced Governor John Nyagarama to return back to his office to address the matter. They accuse Public Service Management minister Bernard Osumo of bias.
Until the time of going to the press, MCAs we're were holed up in the meeting with Mr Nyagarama. Speaker Moffat Teya was leading the MCA.
