When the county assembly of Nyamira resumes sittings in February this year, the house leadership will yet again compile a list of house committee membership.
Speaker Moffat Teya disbanded all the committees apart from House Business and Selection Committees which are fundamental in the running of the institution.
According to Teya, election of Bonyamatuta MCA Robinson Mocheche and disparity in the committees contributed to his decision.
"We have received complaints from many complaints from MCAs on composition of certain committees with some members having duplicate roles.
"We also have the case where Hon Mocheche was elected deputy speaker and was the chairman Gender Committee. These vacancies have to be filled by house leadership," he said.
Committees are fundamental in the running of the business in both the assembly and parliament and are essential in making follow-ups in the executive on implementation.
Nominated MCA George Mosiori lauded the move, adding that it will help solve serious issues that had threatened to split the assembly in the past.
"This was long over due. I am glad that the speaker has heeded to our calls. We have to unite the assembly and the entire leadership," he said.
