At least four ministers will be affected in the looming cabinet reshuffle as Governor John Nyagarama seeks to restore confidence in his government which is fading.
Should things go as planned, a source says, Mr. Nyagarama, who has been hosting his executive and MCAs in Mombasa, will make the announcement on Thursday evening.
"He is focused to ensure proper service delivery thus the decision. The announcement is expected at around 5pm local time.
"This is necessary before chief officers takes their positions. They are under contract and we shall see whether it works," said the source.
Mr. Nyagarama has come under immense criticism for the last two years with locals accusing his staff of incompetence over Sh1 billion which are laying in Treasury unspent.
On Wednesday, Manga MCA Enock Ogori defended the trip to Mombasa, adding that they were anxious to know why the government is sluggish.
"It is a worthy trip. We want to know why projects are not being implemented. We needed these round table meetings for us to move forward," he said.
The departments likely to be affected are Trade and Tourism (Peter Muga), Roads and Public Works (John Omanwa), Finance (Jackline Momanyi) and Public Administration (Johnstone Obike).
Mr. Omanwa is under pressure to explain about Sh32 million prefab building that has caused jitters around the county.
