Garissa County government has threatened to take stern action against rogue county drivers who will be found flouting traffic rules or even misusing county vehicles. This is according to the Deputy Governor Abdi Dagane.
Speaking on Wednesday during a two-day training seminar for all county drivers in Garissa, Dagane called on the drivers to observe all the code of regulations to ensure the safety and security of county vehicles.
He further revealed dire consequences including sacking of all drivers found to have flouted the regulations.
"After this two-day workshop, as a county government we are not going to tolerate any case of indiscipline or even negligence on our specified code of regulation in management and maintenance of our county vehicles," Dagane cautioned.
At the same time, the deputy governor lauded the county Department of Roads and Transport for organizing the training stating that the session will have a positive impact on service delivery among county drivers.
