Speaking during an interview on KTN on Wednesday night,  Ruto said that he was forced out of his position because of speaking his mind.

Recalling what happened during the voting day, Ruto said that his agents were arrested and locked up in police cells.

“It was not a question of numbers but state machinations. They arrested all my agents and locked them in. When I talked with the police commander, he told me he was not in charge. The county was under a siege,” he stated.

He further revealed that his party does not regret the humiliation it suffered during the past elections as it was able to secure a good number of Member of County Assembly (MCA’s) and two MPs.

“That was not an election. They did so because I was going out of the way and speaking my mind when they wanted the region to be a Jubilee zone. In spite of the harassment they meted on us, we still got MCAs and two MP positions,” the CCM boss added.

The firebrand politician was trounced by the current Governor Joyce Laboso who vied for the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.

Ruto was at the time not in good terms with the DP and has on several occasions, he blamed him (DP Ruto) for masterminding his political woes.
