Confirming the new development, Isuzu EA Managing Director, Rita Kavashe, said that the firm is committed to increase its production capacity within the country in the near future.

She further noted that the firm is ready to spend its resources in the manufacturing of vehicles that will meet the different needs of customers in the market.

Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, who was present during the launch, said the move is in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s mission to transform the manufacturing sector, before he completes his second and final term in power.

CS Munya said the national government is out to support private manufacturers in different sectors to realize their goals at the end of the day.

“With the right support and incentives, the local vehicle assembly industry has the potential to create over 50,000 jobs in a few years. The industry will also be in a position to contribute substantially to the Country’s GDP,” he said.
