Kisii boda boda riders condemned the media for airing fake news concerning a report that they had declared to boycott paying for the stickers.
While addressing journalists on Monday in Kisii town, the chairman of Kisii boda boda association Fred Nunda, faulted the media of airing news without talking to the boda boda leaders and getting the full account over the same.
He condemned the act, saying before a decision of airing the news has been reached, there must be a legal procedure that must be undergone. This is by writing the letter to the county government and if nothing is done, they will have called the journalists and addressed the same, a procedure that was not followed before airing the report.
This comes shortly after it was aired that the Kisii boda boda riders had declared not to pay for the stickers since the county government has declined to answer their demands, what Nunda denounced and said it was fake news.
"When a journalist reports a story in media, it should be after an agreement from the various leaders of boda boda. What was aired about boda boda riders declaring not to pay for the monthly stickers was fake,” Nunda said.
This was after a meeting carried by congressmen from 59 boda boda stages, had a rendezvous to vote for the speaker of the Kisii boda boda association, whereby Robert Magana was voted in.
