Kisii Governor James Ongwae on Monday Joined leaders from the rest of the world in attending the 8th Israelis Eilat-Eilot International Green Energy Summit in the city of Eilat, Israel.
In his tour which is expected to yield results, Ongwae has learnt that our national rating in individual household connection to electric power is still low citing he is now keen to engage with many technology organisations in the energy sector to explore ways of making access to cheap power at home a reality.
"I'm deeply concerned about the plight of our rural folk who are virtually locked out of the available power grid due to financial constraints as they rely on expensive kerosene and wood fuel for cooking and lighting,"
"I'm delighted to be engaging with many technology organisations in the energy sector to explore ways of making access to cheap power at home a reality," he said.
The ODM Governor also had the opportunity to engage with Hon. Yuval Steinitz who is the Israeli Minister of Energy in charge of the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission and a member of the security cabinet, a move that he believes will transform his leadership in terms of development.
Kisii community hopes that he will implement the same so that Kisii residents can access cheap power connectivity.
