A 40-year-old man is fighting for his life at Ogembo hospital after he was attacked by his elder brother over land inheritance.
Neighbors said Wilson Machoni, was attacked by his brother, Ronald Ongaga on Monday in Kerongorori, Kenyenya in Kisii County.
“I heard Machoni quarreling with his brother. Ongaga removed a panga he was hiding in his jacket and attacked Machoni. He cut him deep on the head, left hand and his left knee before he fled to an unknown place,” said James Barongo.
Keumbu assistant chief Duke Marubi said Machoni was rushed to Ogembo hospital by neighbors where is recapturing.
“The two have been having disagreements about their father’s land and have been in and out of my office over the same. Ongaga wanted to inherit a big portion of land than his brother which is unacceptable,” he said.
He called on Nyumba Kumi officials to cooperate and ensure the suspect is arrested to be surrendered to police.
The administrator urged parents to subdivide their lands equally to their sons to curb unnecessary fights.
