A NASA allied Member of Parliament has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure his government creates more jobs for youths.
West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi argued that the Jubilee government has not given priority to youths when it comes to job offers.
He said there is need for the government under the leadership of President Uhuru to create more jobs and absorb graduate youths.
"The Jubilee government has done nothing to address increased number of jobless youths. I want to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta to give more youths jobs," he said on Thursday at Parliament.
The lawmaker insisted that graduate youths are losing hope in life due to lack of jobs noting that more jobless youths will join gang groups to terrorize people.
"If the government will not address the jobless issue we are going to have a higher number of youths joining gang groups to terrorize people. Uhuru need to open his eyes and give youths jobs," he stated.
The Ford Kenya Party elected MP appealed to youths to push hard for the government to give them jobs.
He regretted that elderly people are still working in government instead of giving on retirement.
