Nordic ambassadors visited Makueni County on a benchmarking mission on Tuesday.
They were hosted by Governor Kivutha Kibwana who took them through his devolution success.
Among issues discussed during their visit were progressive development in the county and how Kibwana has been able to achieve success.
"I am humbled to host the Nordic ambassadors - Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark who are in Makueni to learn about counties devolution success stories, as well as to understand the devolved system of government," Kibwana said.
The ambassadors hailed the Makueni's public participation model that saw 120,000 residents particiate in 2018/2019 budget and CIDP II making processes.
The ambassadors urged other governors to follow suit.
They praised Kibwana for his efforts to help his people.
"I want to thanks Hon. Kibwana for his determination to help his people and to see devolution works," said Erick Lundberg, Finland's ambassador to Kenya.
Six months ago, Kibwana hosted the 46 county bosses in his county for a learning conference.
Kibwana has constructed a classic Mother and Children Hospital fully equipped and the first to have aqua-natal services for the only Sh135million from the county funding.
He has received a lot of applause and good name as the only leader who is working in Kenya.
