A consortium of political novices has now launched a new party in the country. According to the party’s proposed interim national chairperson HadijahTheuri, the outfit has already obtained provisional registration certificates.
According to the interim Secretary-general of “Nyayo za Umoja’’ party, Martin Adera, the main objective of the party is to stand for the downtrodden in society, foster national unity and development, and fight corruption.
Making its first foray into Kisii County on Sunday, Adera termed the party unique claiming it will be in the forefront in championing for the interests of the disabled in the society.
The party is currently setting up interim national branches while appointing officials and delegates ahead of the 2022 presidential polls.
“The formation of the party has been prompted by voters’ disappointment in the elected leadership in their respective parties and lack of respect for them. The voters have felt that the traditional parties do not cater for their needs,” said Theuri.
She claimed her party will route for leaders who were God-fearing, development-conscious and unified the country.
Some key political parties suffered at the expense of the Jubilee Party that dissolved and merged them into the current ruling political party before the 2017 presidential elections.
