Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has made it clear that opposition leader Raila Odinga plays no role within the Jubilee government.
This comes barely two weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta claimed that Odinga has since joined his government and is well set inside his leadership.
Uhuru made the remarks while addressing a roadside rally when Raila hosted him in Kisumu County on Thursday last week.
But in an interview on Radio Jambo's 'Mazungumzo Waziwazi ' Saturday morning, Aladwa maintained that the Orange party leader has no state power whatsoever.
"Raila hajaingia serikalini kwa wale wanaodhani eti ameingia, hana nguvu zozote. Nguvu zimebaki na Rais. (He remains a civilian to those who think he has entered into the government. He has no powers at all)," he disclosed.
Aladwa doubles up as a close ally of the former Prime Minister and the Chair of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in Nairobi county.
He, however, admitted that the opposition figure has been a secret aide to the President and has been a very crucial decision making organ and advisor to his government.
"Kile ambacho amekuwa akifanya ni kusaidia serikali katika maamuzi na mawaidha kwa mambo yanayohusu taifa. (However, he has been very supportive to the President on matters advise and decision making)," said Aladwa.
Uhuru was on Thursday last week in Raila's Luo Nyanza bedrock for a 2-day tour that saw him visit Kisumu and Siaya counties.
This was also in line with their March 9 truce where they vowed to helve their political rivalry and jointly unite the nation for the sake of development and cohesion.
