A section of Deputy President William Ruto's backers have issued fresh demands to President Uhuru Kenyatta over an impending Jubilee party retreat.
Jubilee officials allied to Uhuru, led by Vice Chairman David Murathe, had said the retreat will go on as scheduled in early September.
But Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi and Caleb Kositany of Soy said that the retreat will make meaning if it's convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta himself.
"We don't have a problem with party retreat. It is a bonding session but we can only attend that convened by the president," Cherargei said.
"The president is the leader and we can't tolerate meetings called by busybodies. The president should summon for such meetings," said Sudi.
Early last week, a plan to oust Uhuru's allies was unearth with Murathe and Raphael Tuju being targets.
Mr. Cherargei had insisted that Ruto's team would boycott the retreat if top leadership does not convene it.
