Six people have perished in a road accident as they took their child back to school.

The six died after an accident along the Kericho-Kisumu road when their saloon car collided head-on with a lorry at Complex area, a few metres from Chepseon trading centre.

Police in Kericho said those who perished were members of a family who were ferrying a student back to school.

The family members were heading to Nakuru where the student was to report back to school.

It is not yet clear what led to the fatal crash.
