A slay queen is nursing injuries after she received a thorough beating for allegedly stealing Sh5,000 from a man she was at a nightclub.
The incident happened on Thursday in Star lounge, Kisii town in Kisii County.
Witnesses said, Mercy Mokeira accompanied James Orang’i into a club where she drunk with him before she decided to steal from him.
“Orang’i came with Mokeira into the club at 10 pm to drink. They had good moments drinking beer and dancing until 1 am when Orang’i claimed that his Sh5,000 was missing,” said Cleophas Obwocha.
Mr Obwocha said Mokeira tried to escape but she was arrested before she could step outside the club.
“Mokeira escaped but, luckily the club bouncers arrested her before she could step outside. Her handbag was searched and we recovered Sh5,560. Upon questioning she said she stole the money from Orang’i pocket while they were dancing,” said Obwocha.
The club security guard Francis Ondimu said Mokeira was beaten up by angry members of the public who were in the club before she was rescued.
He warned ladies against stealing from men who they accompany to clubs to avoid unnecessary beatings.
