A device suspected to be a bomb was on Tuesday discovered in Nthungululu village, Yatta sub-county of Machakos County.
Mavoloni location chief Francis Keli confirmed the incident.
He said that the device was found near the Assistant chief's office.
'A device suspected to be a bomb was found at a local' s home, a few meters from the assistant chief's office in Nthungululu, Kwa Ndolo sub location," said Keli.
He noted that the device was discovered by the farm owner who notified the assistant chief.
He observed that there is a possibility that the device could be among other things that were used long ago in the military exercise.
He confirmed that bomb experts from Nairobi have been notified and will arrive any time to detonate the device.
He said that heavy security has been around the area until the bomb experts arrive.
"I can assure you there is total security around the area, bomb experts have been notified and will arrive to detonate the device," he said.
The chief addressed the journalists on Tuesday.
This incidence comes just two years after another bomb was discovered in the same sub location by locals who were digging a toilet.
