Transition rate from primary to secondary school now stands at 83%.
This is a according to Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed who said the government is working to ensure 100% transition.
Speaking at St Marys Girls High school in Nakuru on Monday, the CS said the ministry is also working to improve the infrastructure in schools to accommodate the huge number of those transiting to secondary schools.
“As a ministry we are working to see improved infrastructure in our schools to accommodate the huge number of students,” said the CS.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Nakuru County Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha who tasked the local chiefs to ensure no child is left at home.
