Nicholas Owino, the father of social media sensation Desmond Otieno alias Wamama, has an important nugget of wisdom to share with parents across the country.
The father of nine wants parents to allow their children to have the freedom to engage their passions and to pursue their talents.
"For me, to my fellow parents, if your child is not good in education and has a talent, allow him or her to pursue that talent.
"Encourage them to do that, even if it's football, their blessing could be there. If you see your child being happy doing something, let them do that," Mr Owino says.
According to Mr Owino, there are many ways to succeed in this life and education is just one of them and not the only one.
He encouraged youths to focus on their talents and passions.
His son, Desmond Otieno who worked as a toilet cleaner in Oman, was never good in education as his only passion was drama and entertaining his peers.
Wamama engaged his passion to good effect, entertaining female social media users which turned him into a household name.
His social media exploits have seen him sign contracts with companies to advertise their products, no mean feat.
Nicholas Owino shared his wisdom during an interview with Ebru TV.
