Migori Governor Okoth Obado could be headed to stardom should he overcome the current case.

Obado was on Thursday arraigned before a Kibera Law court to answer to gun-related charges, following his arrest at a city hotel on Wednesday.

His arrest came a day after detectives raided his two homes in Nairobi and Migori and confiscated 8 guns and documents associated with his recent implication in Ksh.2 billion graft scandal.

A month ago, he was facing murder charges after being implicated in the killing of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

Should he again manage to free himself, Obado will come out as a victim whose woes are managed from some higher quarter, but whose power is enough to overcome all that.

Should he find a person to lay his blame on, especially if they are higher placed, then he will emerge a hero who is a threat to some people who are now seeking his 'elimination'.

It is this way that many politicians in the nation rose to stardom, a good example being founding father Jomo Kenyatta whose imprisonment earned him the top seat when he finally overcame.

Using the sympathy he will have gained from Kenyans, he can go ahead to claim any seat and win, or narrowly lose.

Obado will, therefore, be at a better position to argue that he will use his resilience to serve the people, a narrative that can easily earn him a place in the hearts of many Kenyans.

The results will be better should he get a way of blaming his woes on opposition leader Raila Odinga due to the current bad blood apparently emerging between them which emanates from Obado’s rebellion in Raila's Luo Nyanza bedrock.

Raila will emerge a traitor who is using his power and influence to victimize his tribesmen, earning Obado the entire or a good portion of the region.
