A section of politicians have been questioning his inability to record a statement with the police regarding the plot which came to the limelight on Monday so far.

Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba and members of the Kieleweke faction of the Jubilee Party on Monday raised the question, doubting his claims.

But Nduko has  justified the same considering that he raised the issue directly with the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, whose office does not hold an occurrence book.

"The Deputy President was right to make a call, the problem is that the office he called does not hold any occurrence book," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show, Wednesday morning.

At the same time, the DP has not been seen visiting any police office to make a formal report over the same claims.

However, he (Nduko) noted that the claims are very likely affect people around the DP, including his security detail.

He predicted a situation where the elite squad protecting the DP might also have to record statements over the same.

Speaking after presenting themselves to the DCI headquarters, four CSs implicated in the scheme confirmed that Ruto is yet to record a statement on the issue.

The group was represented by Trade and Industrialization CS Peter Munya, who has been named alongside James Macharia (Transport), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and Joe Mucheru (ICT).

They have also admitted holding meetings at Lamada Hotel as has been claimed, but said that their meetings have nothing to do with eliminating anyone.

"We have made it clear that at no time did we ever met anywhere to plan to kill the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya or any other person for that matter. But we also want to confirm that we had a meeting at Lamada and we will continue meeting, because there is freedom of assothe same time," he was quoted by Capital News.
