Speaking on Wednesday, he said that apart from what the nation knows about the scuffles that were witnessed, more happened, which remains out of the public domain.

He said that though there was no planned violence in Kibra, a number of Jubilee Party politicians found themselves in trouble with the public over allegations of buying votes.

Among them, he said, was Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, whom he said was actually confronted twice by locals, and not once as is seen in videos making rounds on social media.

He claimed that the lawmaker was first nabbed buying votes in the morning and chased away, before he came back again and experienced the same, adding that he lost two caps.

"Didmus had already been beaten and lost his cap in the morning alongside Oscar Sudi and company, but because of his pride, he came back (Didmus alikuwa amepigwa tayari asubuhi na akanyanganywa kofia pamoja na akina Oscar Sudi, lakini kwa sababu ya kiburi yake, akarudi tena)," he said.

Arati, an ODM lawmaker made the remarks on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night.

He said that the group was roughed up by angry residents, adding that Sudi escaped into Mashimoni mosque, while Mumias East lawmaker Benjamin Washiali took off.

According to Arati, the Kapseret lawmaker was found with Sh600,000 in his pockets in the course of the fracas and hid in a toilet before making his way into the mosque.

"Sudi escaped into a toilet and then into the mosque, Sh600,000 was found on him (Sudi alikimbia kutoka kwa choo akaingia msikitini hapo Mashimoni, alipatikana na Sh600,000 kwa mfuko)," he added.

The ODM party is still celebrating its win through its candidate Imran Okoth, while Jubilee, through Deputy President William Ruto, has accused ODM of using violence to secure the win.
