For the second time in as many weeks, Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi defended her calls to have the powerful Prime Minister (PM) post.
Mrs Momanyi, who decamped from DP William Ruto's team in June, has turned out to be a vocal defender of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
At Nyamira on Saturday, she said a PM who cannot be sacked by the president will enhance good performance through the help of parliament.
"We need a PM who can work and be accountable to the people and their representatives. It's good like that and performance will be on top," the Woman Rep said.
According to the first-term legislator, changing from imperial presidency to the Parliamentary system will give an opportunity to other tribes in leadership.
"Having an executive PM taking charge of government gives an opportunity to small communities. We have to do away with the presidential system that has caused animosity for years," she said.
Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report recommended for a weak PM post but a number of leaders are currently lobbying for the introduction of the powerful post.
Mrs Momanyi has been working closely with Dr Matiang'i, who is believed to be warming up for elective politics in the near future.
