Ying Xu, a co-lead author and research associate professor in the Buffalo University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences noted that the resveratrol compound in red wine can assuage depression, stress and anxiety.
"Resveratrol may be an effective alternative to drugs for treating patients suffering from depression and anxiety disorders," said Ying Xu as quoted by Metro.
After conducting research on mice, it was established this compound blocks the release of a certain enzyme, corticosterone linked to stress.
Corticosterone is normally released when the body is subjected to stress which can undoubtedly cause mental disorder or affect the brain.
By drinking one glass of Red Wine, you are assured of purging this condition.
However, always remember that drinking too much of this wine is harmful to your health. It is advisable you take it in moderation.
