West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo, and his number one critic Dennis Ruto Kapchok, alias Mulmulwas have decided to bury their political differences.
This was announced by the West Pokot county boss in a post on Facebook on Sunday.
In the post, Governor Lonyangapuo said his erstwhile political adversary had been convinced by Kapyongen location elders to work with him and his team.
"The Political Prodigal Son 'Kijana Fupi Round' aka Mulmulwas was today brought by elders from his Kapyongen location led by his father Lopetakou, to ask for forgiveness.
"Seemingly, his eyes can now see what he never saw before! We welcome all persons of goodwill, with no material or monetary gain inducement, to join us in building Kenya through West Pokot County. For those in the camp, there is no displacement, let's receive them and take them through our manifesto, which is Mwananchi-driven," he posted.
Prof Lonyangapuo and Mulmulwas had been embroiled in a vicious long-running war of words with the latter accusing the former of mismanaging West Pokot County.
The burying of the hatchet between the two will come as a surprise to Kenyans as Mulmulwas recently rejected an appeal by Deputy President William Ruto to work with his governor.
