The National Government is poised to ensure that there is 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary school.
According to Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abirisack Jaldesa, it is an offence for any child to be forced to repeat a certain class in the name that he or she is not performing well.
“We are nearing Kenya Certificate of Primary Education ( KCPE) examination next month. We are prepared as the Uasin Gishu County education committee to ensure that every pupil sitting for KCPE joins to form one,” said Jaldesa.
He was speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Thursday.
“We already have the list of pupils who will sit for their examination to ensure so that by January we will be able to know if every child has gone to form one according to government policies. We will follow up those who could have not reported,” added Jaldesa.
He further said that chiefs and their assistants should ensure that all children go to school come January regardless of their performance.
Jaldesa put parents denying their children their right to education on notice saying that its an offence since the government is offering free primary and secondary day school noting that stern action will be taken against them.
