Just a month after EAC minister Adan Mohammed, then in Industrialization docket, openly contradicted Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i over mercury sugar claims, two more ministers have isolated the minister.

While appearing at Senate PAC meeting, Education CS Amina Mohammed faulted Matiang'i for what she called 'haste' acquisition of ShSh3.2 billion Ruaraka land.

“We have provided you with the report that was done by our team. We provided it because we believe it is true and factual. These are the facts and the recommendations are there,” she said, adding that the law was breached by her colleague.

Also, Lands Cabinet Secretary Faridah Karoney acknowledged that the government did not follow due process in acquisition of the controversial land further throwing Matiang'i into a limbo.

“The government cannot claim advance possession of private land before purchasing it. This should not be allowed to happen,” she said.

The latest development could see Matiang'i lose his job should the DCI initiate criminal charges against him.

The tough talking minister was in charge of education sector when the suspected scandal took place.

Yet again, Agriculture minister Mwangi Kiunjuri seemed to blame his Treasury colleague Henry Rotich over sugar importation that has also been subjected to enquiry.
