Siaya Senator and the Senate Minority Leader James Orengo on Thursday led other Senators to rebuke the action of the Chief Justice David Maraga over his move to attend President Kenyatta's function in Kisii county on Wednesday.
Speaking in Nairobi in an address to journalists on Thursday afternoon, the ODM and Senator stated that since time immemorial, never ever has a CJ in history attended the head of states political function.
"There is no day in the history of this country that a CJ attended a political event. In terms of decorum, it is a very bad manners," said Orengo.
The Chief Justice accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to Kisii county when the head of state went to open the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital in presence of ODM leader and AU special envoy Raila Odinga.
Maraga had turned up for the event on invitation by Kisii Governor James Ongwae.
