According to those who witnessed the ordeal, the boy aged (17) was given fifty shillings by his mother as pocket money but he turned down the offer and demanded for more.

But when his mother refused to add more, the boy took their kitchen knife and stabbed her several times on the stomach.

"I heard them argue over pocket money as the boy wanted his mother to add him more money, and in few minutes I heard her mother screaming out of pain calling for help. When I arrived, I found her lying down and the boy had flew to school," said Kendy Moraa, his cousin.

Confirming the incident, area Chief Dickson Masi said they rushed the injured mother to Nyamira Hospital where she is fighting for her life.

"After the incident we went straight to the school where the boy studies and we found out that exams had begun but when we explained to our fellow officers of the incident the boy was keenly watched by the police and was immediately arrested as soon as he was done with his exams," said Masi

Masi further said the boy is currently held at Nyamira police station and he will be arraigned in court once investigations are done.
