Speaking during an interview on KTN’s point blank on Wednesday, Khalwale said that the opposition leader has no plans to retire any soon.

He noted that the remarks of his elder brother Oburu Odinga was a tactic  to weigh the waters before the Luo political kingpin can make a decision on whether to contest or not.

He also said that Raila is using Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli to tame Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi to ensure he remains the only candidate from the region.

“In my eyes, I go by what James Orengo and Oburu said. Traditionally they are the ones who let out the cat on Raila Odinga. So, Orengo and Oburu have said Raila will be on the ballot paper. My advice to the deputy President is that Raila will be on the ballot paper,”

Khalwale added: "If you go by the pronouncement of one Francis Atwoli, who is Raila’s chief campaigner in Western and again he is trying to manage Mudavadi so that at the eleventh hour so that Raila ends up being the only candidate so the person I would advise the Deputy President to prepare for his Raila Odinga.”
