Residents of Obama village in Awendo constituency are mourning the death of a 45-year-old man who allegedly committed suicide.
The body of the man only identified as Milton was found hanging in the house of the widow he had inherited on Monday morning.
Milton allegedly committed suicide after the widow; Tina Anyango failed to sleep in her house after disagreements.
According to Anyango, she decided not to sleep in the house with the man he met seven months ago, after he threatened to kill her.
“We had a quarrel on Saturday and he threatened to kill me. That is why I decided not to sleep in my house before being called this morning that he had committed suicide,” Anyango told Kisumu based Dala FM.
She says they have known each other for seven months, but the deceased has spent the bulk of that time threatening to kill her.
The incident was confirmed by Paul Mboya, a village elder.
The body of the deceased was moved to the morgue for preservation.
