Police are looking for a man from Ramba village in Nyamira County after he allegedly poisoned four of his mother's cows after disagreeing over a piece of land.
According to the mother of the man Jemima Biyaki his son threatened to teach her a lesson if she was surrender one of the pieces of land located in Kebirigo market so that he can inherit it.
"I went to the church on Saturday and when I came I found all of my four cows lied down. When I called a vet he confirmed that my cows had been poisoned," said Biyaki
She further added that upon treatment the cows would not respond as the vet claimed the poison was strong. They died on Friday morning.
"I reported the matter to the area Chief who further escorted me to Nyamira where we recorded a statement. My son has since gone hiding," she added.
Confirming the incident, area Chief Dickson Masi said they're currently working with the police team to ensure that the man is arrested.
"We condemn the act of the young man for poisoning his mother's cows and I believe justice will be appealed in the next few days as police are doing all they can to arrest the man," said Masi.
