A group of parliamentarians from Western Kenya are planning to file a petition at the Supreme seeking orders to dissolve the National Assembly.
The move comes after MPs shot down a report on the importation of contraband sugar.
Led by Ayub Savula (Lugari) and Justus Murunga(Matungu), the MPs threatened to rally sugarcane farmers to petition the court to send the parliament home.
"The Speaker must institute thorough investigations into this matter, but we will continue mobilising farmers to ensure that this petition sails through. We want fresh elections, those who received bribes should be kicked out of Parliament because we want to save the image of the House," said Savula.
The lawmakers indicated that they were ready to testify before the Powers and Privilege Committee to aid investigations implicating MPs over bribery allegations to shoot down the report.
"If given that opportunity we will do so. The evidence is everywhere that members (MPs) were bribed. They were even recorded on camera," Murunga said.
Already, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi called the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate the possible compromise of the assembly.
