Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali has been nominated in the People’s Shujaaz Awards.

Ali is one of the two nominees for Wanjiku’s Best Representative 2018 in the health sector. His competitor is Rose Mumo Museu who has lobbied for establishment programmes and interventions to encourage uptake of counselling services.

The MP took to social media to ask his followers for votes to celebrate his contribution to health development. Ali was nominated because of his motion on construction of referral hospital in Mombasa County.

He directed them to vote at mzalendo.com or by sending an SMS code 1A to 21516. Voters should include their name and constituency.

Other nominees are senators Getrude Musuruve and George Khaniri for representing people with disabilities. In the needy category, nominees are senators Aaron Cheruiyot and Beatrice Kwamboka.

Those nominated for progressive legislation are Godfrey Osotsi and Petronila Were while the security and disaster management nominees are George Khaniri who has two nominations, Johnson Arthur Sakaja and Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.

Those chosen for doing a great job in environmental conservation are William Chepkut, George Macharia and Mugambi Rindikiri.

The People’s Shujaaz Awards are given to parliamentarians who have made a positive contribution to people’s lives. 

This year’s awards focus on contributions between September 2017 to October 2018.
