Deputy President William Ruto could be walking alone in the ongoing war against graft following the decision by a section of Jubilee leaders to fault his approach in the ongoing graft war.
Dr Ruto over the weekend insisted that the war was not genuine, adding that it's main intention was to pin him down due to 2022 presidential elections race in which he's a lead candidate.
Jubilee Youth Leader Brian Mamboleo on Sunday asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to tame his deputy, saying that his negative attitude could derail the fight against corruption.
"The president and Raila Odinga mean well for this nation. Fight against corruption must be won. It's very disappointing that he (Ruto) can contradict his boss. Even worse, he's discrediting DCI. He should be tamed," Mamboleo said.
Rigoma MCA Benson Sironga, at a funeral on Friday, said the fight against corruption does not target a community. He accused Ruto of deliberately undermining the efforts of the president.
"I now see the reason to abandon his boat. It doesn't make logic that when some people are accused of graft, he peddles the narrative of being targeted. This is undermining his boss. Time has come to move on," he noted.
The onslaught comes after a section of Gusii leaders led by North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, insisted that the president was on the right track in the war against corruption.
