Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Gedi has maintained that she knows nothing about bribery allegations relating to the controversial sugar report.
The MP maintains that she is innocent of allegations being levelled against her that she facilitated the bribery.
Gedi wants MPs linking her to the bribery to provide tangible evidence instead of maligning her name.
Speaking to journalists at Parliament buildings on the sidelines of the Finance Bill debate on Thursday, Gedi said that she has received a summons to appear before the committee.
“I will appear before the committee next week but I still insist that I know nothing about the bribery allegations,” she said on Thursday.
The MPs said that some people are out to tarnish her political career.
On Wednesday, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara and his Kimilili counterpart Didmus Barasa allegedly linked Gedi to the bribery.
Barasa told the committee chaired by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi that she was offered an envelope with Sh10, 000 by Gedi but he rejected it.
Garissa Township Aden Dual has also been named in the bribery allegations.
MPs rejected the sugar report in July on grounds that it was shoddy with many gaps.
